FGMT had the last board meeting of 2025. The meeting was very productive. We have submitted our Volunteer of the Year award to CRPA. We are gathering our list of accomplishments of 2025 to post in the near future. We made a list of items to try and get on the CRPA budget for 2027. And last but not least we made our plans for 2026 which we will also post early in the new year. All around the meeting was full of happy members looking forward to a very good new year.

Garland Mountain Horse and Hike Trails and Cherokee County NEWS!!!!!!
Last night Garland Mountain Board President Charline Cambron, IT & Research Nancy Foy and Secretary Carolyn Stambaugh attended the Cherokee County Commissioner meeting where our PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT with the County was voted into Cherokee County. This Agreement legitimizes FGMT’s mission to support the development, maintenance, enhancement and preservation of the Garland Mountain trails through volunteer stewardship.
With this Agreement it is now codified that Garland Mountain will continue to be a horse and hiking park only for at least 10 years!
This would not have happened without the arduous efforts of the County’s Recreation and Parks Bryan Reynolds, Jay Worley and Adam Fussell. They have always been excellent, caring partners with us in keeping Garland Mountain safe and a bright diamond of green space and now it is OFFICIAL!

Board of GMT meets their new Commissioner, William (Will) Cagle at the Cherokee County’s Commissioner meeting last night where the Partnership Agreement between GMT and the County was codified. Great night thanks to leaders at our County’s Recreation and Parks Division Bryan Reynolds, Jay Worley and Adam Fussell.
